Room(s) with a view: Casa Beatnik, a designer's dream destination
The saying goes, the devil is in the details. One glance around Casa Beatnik, our bold transformation an 18th-century pazo into a destination hotel in the heart of Galicia’s wine country, and it’s clear there are many 'devils' who call our casa home.
Designed by Maison Bonhomme, the studio responsible for creating all of our concepts, Casa Beatnik’s aesthetic is driven by a sublime blending of three countries close to our heart: Morocco for its sumptuous combinations of color and passionate artisans, France for its music and artistic confidence, and Italy for a proper dose of polish and panache to sex it all up.
Our maximalist design is a journey through different cultures and textures to confer a sense of mystery and charm, channeling aesthetes from another time who would surround themselves with beautiful pieces, collected from their travels around the world. The accidental visitor, who happens to stroll by, would need to guess the impeccably curated wonders hidden beyond the pink camellia façade of the property’s pazo.
Take, for instance, our 13 suites. Each one is independently designed and features a one-of-a-kind collection of furniture and fittings by some of the 20th and 21st century’s most exciting designers and master artisans from Milan and Murano to Jaén, Tashkent and Marrakech, including handmade cement and zellige tiles from Popham Design, bed & bath linens from Valerie Barkowski, armchairs from Gio Ponto, exquisitely detailed suzanis handmade in Tashkent, and bathroom vanities, bathtubs and taps from Roberto Lazzeroni.
In addition to the suites, guests looking for an adventurous and unique stay can experience our luxury yurts, whose structure and design come from Kyrgyzstan. The four-season luxury yurts are equipped with king-size beds by Soho Home, bed and bath linens by Valerie Barkowski, heavy wool blankets from El Fenn, fireplaces and woven esparto rugs. Guests staying in the luxury yurts have access to four semi-private bathrooms featuring rain showers and Claus Porto bath products.
No matter where you choose to stay, start your day with a complimentary invigorating tai chi session and end it with a relaxing Vinyasa yoga class. Sweet dreams, indeed.
